*Students to choose project topics in the first semester,
T = Hours for face-to-face interactions (facilitated learning session) or online delivery of theory course per meeting;
P = Hours for practical session, field works and laboratory work per week; and
C = Credit Hours for a course. This relates to the amount of work represented in intended learning outcomes and verified by evidence of students’ achievement.
- a.Research component;
Students will undertake six months research and submit a project report in partial fulfilment for the award of the BSc degree. To achieve this, students will apply their knowledge from earlier courses to undertake a detailed research on any of the specialized areas in Civil Engineering Practice in Ghana or abroad and write a thesis. Students will be guided by their supervisors but the work will be their own and they will take responsibility for the design, planning and execution of the project. Formal assessment will be done singlehandedly by the student’s supervisor.
- b. Industrial attachment and internship
All students are required to go for industrial attachment for a minimum of two (2) months during the long vacation period of the third year. Upon reopening, students present an industrial attachment report that detail out the student’s engagement whiles on internship.
